Shipping Policy

This policy describes how MeasureMeter processes, ships, and delivers orders. By placing an order you agree to the terms below.


Order Processing

Orders are processed on business days (Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays). Most orders are processed within 1–3 business days of payment confirmation. You will receive an order confirmation email immediately after purchase, and a separate shipping confirmation with tracking information once your order has been picked up by the carrier.

Processing times may be longer during periods of high order volume. We will notify you if there is a significant delay.

Shipping Terms — FOB Origin

All MeasureMeter orders ship under FOB Origin (Freight on Board — point of shipment) terms. This means:

  • Title and risk of loss transfer to the buyer at the moment the carrier takes possession of your order at our location.
  • Once the shipment is in the carrier’s hands, MeasureMeter is not responsible for loss, delay, or damage caused during transit.
  • The buyer is responsible for filing claims with the carrier in the event of lost or damaged shipments.

We strongly recommend adding shipping insurance to your order (see below) to protect against loss or damage in transit.

Carriers

MeasureMeter ships via UPS and FedEx. Carrier selection is based on package size, destination, and service availability. We do not currently offer carrier preference selection at checkout, but contact us before ordering if a specific carrier is required for your receiving dock or facility.

Shipping Insurance

Shipping insurance is available as an optional add-on at checkout. Insurance is provided directly through the selected carrier (UPS or FedEx) and covers the declared value of the shipment against loss or damage during transit.

  • Given our FOB Origin terms, we strongly recommend insuring all orders, particularly for high-value instruments.
  • If you choose not to add insurance and your shipment is lost or damaged, MeasureMeter is not liable for the loss and cannot issue a replacement or refund for carrier-caused damage.
  • Insurance claims must be filed directly with the carrier by the buyer.

Delivery Estimates

Transit times vary by destination and carrier service level. Estimated delivery windows are provided at checkout and in your shipping confirmation email. These estimates are provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed. MeasureMeter is not responsible for carrier delays due to weather, volume, or other circumstances outside our control.

Tracking Your Order

A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order has been handed to the carrier. You can track your shipment directly on the UPS or FedEx website using that number. If you have not received tracking information within 4 business days of your order, contact us at [EMAIL — TBD].

Address Accuracy

It is your responsibility to provide a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout. MeasureMeter is not responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer. If a package is returned to us due to an undeliverable address, you will be responsible for the cost of reshipping. We cannot refund original shipping charges in this situation.

Refused or Undeliverable Shipments

If a shipment is refused at delivery or returned to us as undeliverable, it will be treated as a return and subject to our standard Return & Refund Policy, including the 20% restocking fee. Original and return shipping costs are non-refundable.

Damaged Shipments

If your order arrives visibly damaged:

  1. Document the damage immediately — photograph both the outer packaging and the item before unpacking further.
  2. Note the damage on the carrier’s delivery record if possible.
  3. File a claim directly with UPS or FedEx using your tracking number. If you purchased shipping insurance, the claim is filed against that coverage.
  4. Contact us at [EMAIL — TBD] with your order number and photos. We will assist where we can.

Because title transfers at the point of shipment (FOB Origin), MeasureMeter cannot issue refunds or replacements for carrier-caused damage. Shipping insurance is your primary protection.

International Shipping

MeasureMeter currently ships within the contiguous United States only. International shipping is not available at this time. Contact us at [EMAIL — TBD] to inquire about international orders on a case-by-case basis.
